Welcome to the Class 40 Preservation Society

Engineering

We have a dedicated band of Engineering Volunteers that maintain our locomotives. No previous experience or skills are required to help the Society in this way as full training and guidance will be given.

The Engineering Support Team typically meet every other Saturday at the ELR. The Team's efforts are mostly concentrated on repairs and running maintenance on our locos under the guidance of our Engineering Officer and Team Leaders.

For insurance purposes you will need to be a working member on the East Lancashire Railway (ELR). To become a working a member on the ELR you first need to become a member then undertake a half-day basic safety training course and a medical. We are keen to welcome and increase our numbers in the Engineering Team. If this area is of interest, you can register your interest by completing the registration form or enquiring at the email address below.

Sales & Fundraising

We plan to attend with both the CFPS Sales Stand and 40088 Sales Cab at an increased number and wider variety of Events during the course of this year in order to raise much needed funds towards the upkeep of our loco's. Our plan includes attending a number of Model Railway events and Members with knowledge of this particular area would also be useful to the Society.

In order for us to achieve these goals, we need to expand our small team of CFPS Members who assist with our Sales activities. So please consider stepping forward and getting involved.

Please contact our Chairman, John Stephens, if you feel able to assist or complete the registration form below. You will be made to feel very welcome.
